This beautiful handmade netted scarf is made from Eri silk by talented female artisans for CDK. The light pink and yellow accents are a bright mix that will light up almost all outfits.
Eri silk is also known as peace silk as the weavers wait until the worm has left the cocoon before processing it. The empty cocoons are boiled to release the fine silk threads which are then handspun, handwoven, and naturally dyed into gorgeous scarves and stoles. Because the cocoon is empty the silk threads are broken and joined again during hand spinning creating slubs of texture unique to each piece. Eri silk is one of the most durable and strong fibers. It is softer than cotton and has the special capacity to be cooling in the summer and warming in the winter allowing you to carry this scarf all year long.
