It includes three crucial strands of Bhutan’s cultural heritage:
- Bhutanese Zodiac Signs on Stamp
Issued in 2022, this colorful stamp sheet features the 12 zodiac signs of Bhutan (Lokhor Chunye) and depicts the theme of WATER MALE TIGER YEAR. It is believed that each sign has its strengths and weaknesses, its specific traits, desires, and attitude toward life and people.
2. Atsara of Bhutan on Stamp
The stamp collection, issued in September 2015, is designed based on the theme of Atsara, or holy clowns, of Bhutan. The sheet consists of six miniature stamps portraying the playful nature of Atsara. Atsara is an integral part of many Bhutanese festivals and rituals. The red-faced comical characters generally entertain the crowd at Tshechus.
3. Traditional Musical Instruments of Bhutan
This stamp sheet consists of six traditional musical instruments from Bhutan. Issued in 2017, the collection also shows Lhamo Yangchenma -The Goddess of Knowledge and Music. It comes with a QR code on the stamp of each instrument, which plays the musical sound of that particular instrument when scanned. This stamp sheet is an innovative blend of traditional aesthetics and modern technology.
