“Nado Happiness incense” is crafted by the famous Bhutanese factory “Nado Poizokhang” – one of the leading incense makers in Bhutan. “Nado” products are famous for the purity of ingredients used and the careful preparation process following century-old Buddhist recipes. It is one of the oldest and the largest hand-made incense manufacturers in Bhutan.
This “Happiness” Nado Poizokhang is an “A” grade incense of this collection. It contains a traditional blend of fruits, cereals, medicinal plants, and pure milk. This is made in strict accordance with the practice texts. Many of these ingredients grow at more than 4000 m in the Himalayas. Collecting is undertaken by yak herders as they move their herds up and down the mountains searching for summer and winter pastures as well as families who live permanently high in the remote Himalayas.
It is believed that offering these incense sticks invites divine beings to bestow blessings on beings and the environment. It also pacifies unseen obstacle makers.

About the producer:
Nado Poizokhang is the oldest and the largest hand-made incense sticks manufacturer in Bhutan. It was a government-owned unit until the early 1990s. When the Royal Government started privatising organisations, the unit started to commercialise its products. This family business is now providing employment for 15 poor, uneducated, and underprivileged people. They work closely with the Community Based Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants Project that educates collectors on the sustainable collection and cultivation of the natural products that they use.
