This Bhutanese Incense stick is crafted the famous Nado Poizokhang factory – the leading incense maker in Bhutan. Handmade with special care in the Nado Poizokhang workshop, It contains a blend of about 100 precious element, all organic and mostly forage at high-altitude in the forest of Bhutan.

This Genuine Bhutanese Incense is designed for making ritual offerings. Its prescription is also based on the instructions, written by the great XVI century Drukpa Kagyu master — Pema Karpo.

Many of these ingredients grow at more than 4000 m in the Himalayas. Collecting is undertaken by yak herders as they move their herds up and down the mountains searching for summer and winter pastures as well as families who live permanently high in the remote Himalayas.

About the producer:

Nado Poizokhang is the oldest and the largest hand-made incense sticks manufacturer in Bhutan. It was a government-owned unit until the early 1990s. When the Royal Government started privatising organisations, the unit started to commercialise its products. This family business is now providing employment for 15 poor, uneducated, and underprivileged people. They work closely with the Community Based Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants Project that educates collectors in the sustainable collection and cultivation of the natural products that they use.
