Handwoven raw silk stole with detailed motif designs woven on a traditional backstrap loom by skilled female artisans of Deki Natural Dyes. This one-of-a-kind handmade piece is incorporated with intricate supplementary weft patterning called ‘thrima and kewa metho.” Thrima involves entwining weft yarns around the warp yarns, creating motifs that are raised above the ground cloth.
Our unique, tasteful raw silk stole is soft to the touch and lends itself perfectly for the spring season when it’s not too cold, but you still wish to accessorise your outfit or add a splash of colour.

About the producer:
Deki Natural Dye and Handicraft is a sustainable business run by Deki herself. She learned the art of weaving and dyeing with her late mother and aunt. After receiving formal training, she went on to create her first shop, an eco-friendly business in the heart of Thimphu.
Her textiles are all made from sustainable fibers that are grown locally and organically. All the colours are achieved through vegetal dyes. Deki also supports women from the community by offering training to those interested in learning so they can start their own businesses as well.
Please note the colours may differ slightly from the images due to camera and screen settings.
